Window Suncatcher

STEP 1

Gather your supplies:

• Pencil
• Crayons
• Sharpener
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Glue
• Construction paper
• Wax paper
• Towel
• Iron (adults only!)

STEP 2

Draw out the desired shape for your frame on the construction paper and cut two

STEP 3

Measure and mark ½ inch in from the edge of your frames

STEP 4

Cut out the middle of both frames and set the frames aside

STEP 5

Cover your work space with a towel and layout a piece of wax paper

STEP 6

Shave crayons onto the wax paper

STEP 7

Cover the crayon shavings with another sheet of wax paper

STEP 8

Iron on low heat for 2-3 seconds, wait for it to cool

(adults only!)

STEP 9

Mark on the wax paper where to cut, about halfway between the edges of the frame

STEP 10

Cut out wax paper

STEP 11

Glue wax paper to one side of the frame, let dry

STEP 12

Glue the other side of the frame to the wax paper and bottom frame

STEP 13

Let it dry and hang in your window!
