The 2020 Aquarium expansion will allow you to explore new worlds through unique wildlife sculptures.

Perhaps you were or you have that child who explores his backyard with a magnifying glass or collects insects and plants. The Loveland Living Planet Science Learning Campus Plaza will provide the opportunity for every curious guest to explore micro-ecosystems like never before. Cory Clawson is a local sculptor who is making three new pieces for our expansion, with the help of his supportive dog, Woody.
The largest of these sculptures is a Star-nosed mole crawling out of tree roots. The sculpture includes a crawlspace tunnel with an interactive experience for kids where they can explore the world like a Star-nosed mole. His other projects include two microscopic creatures you may not recognize: a Tardigrade (or Water bear) and a Mite.
Clawson’s wildlife sculptures are a part of our vision to spark and cultivate curiosity and learning from different perspectives.
