Protecting Wild Places

The Aquarium is located within a key area for bird migration. Recognizing the importance of this location, Loveland Living Planet Aquarium partnered with MOTUS to install a wildlife tracking station. MOTUS, Latin for motion or movement, is a radio tower on our roof that pings tagged birds, bats, or insects that fly within a 15-kilometer radius of its antenna.

This tracking station is part of a larger network that monitors and tracks wildlife movements. It provides valuable data for conservation efforts, helping us learn about the migratory patterns and behaviors of various species that pass through the region.
