Schedule Your Field Trip

Self-Guided

These visits are designed for schools who would like to explore the Aquarium at their own pace without attending a class.  School groups may take as little or as much time as they need, but most people prefer two to three hours to visit every hall.

The Aquarium is home to over 4,000 animals representing 650 species from regions around the world. Each hall and the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza provide a special learning opportunity for students of all ages. Prepare for your visit by checking out our Animal Habitats and some of the animals they feature.

EcoVenture Class

EcoVenture classes are curriculum-based interactive programs that last 25 minutes (Pre-K through 5th grade) or 40 minutes (6th grade and older). Students must be divided into groups of 35 or less (usually by class) and the program will be presented multiple times ensuring that each group gets a quality, interactive experience.

There is no additional fee to add an EcoVenture Class to your Field Trip, however, space is limited. Classes are subject to the availability of staff, materials, and classroom space. If you would like to participate in these classes, please plan at least two hours for your Aquarium visit.

Scheduling Guidelines

  • All School Groups visiting the Aquarium must have a reservation. Note: Your Field Trip visit is not booked until you have received a confirmation email. If you have not received a confirmation email, your group may be subject to General Admission prices.
  • Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance by submitting a Field Trip Reservation Request through our website (see above). Please allow five to seven business days for your request to be processed. Note: this is a request only and does not guarantee your reservation. We will make every effort to schedule your visit on your preferred date. However, due to various circumstances, your preferred dates may not be available.
  • Field Trips arrivals are scheduled 15 minutes apart to facilitate check-in procedures. School groups may begin arriving as early as 9:45 a.m. from June to February, and 9:15 a.m. from March to May.  When submitting a Field Trip Request, please note that you may be assigned an arrival time that is slightly different than your requested time in order to stagger school group arrivals.

Rescheduling or Canceling

Once your Field Trip reservation has been made it is difficult to change.  We understand that sometimes situations arise that will require you to cancel or reschedule your Field Trip.  If this occurs, please click on the button below and fill out the form to request a new date and time.  We will do our best to give you your preferred date, but availability may be limited.
