Supplies needed:
- Scissors
- Yarn (two colors)
- Glue
- Felt
Instructions
- Cut a piece of yarn about eight inches long, and hold it between your middle fingers
- Wrap the first color of yarn around your fingers about 30 times
- Wrap the second color right next to the first, about 40 times around
- Loosely tie the strip of yarn around the wrapped yarn
- Carefully slide the yarn off your fingers
6. Cut another eight inch strip of yarn
7. Slide the strip of yarn you just cut under the wrapped yarn and tie a tight knot in the middle
8. Trim the loops of the yarn and set aside
9. Repeat steps 2-8 for the next pompom, but only wrap the warn around two fingers. Wrap the first color about 25 times, and the second color about 40 times
10. Give your pompoms a “haircut.”
*Helpful trick* You can use scrap paper to catch the tiny snips of yarn.
11. Cut out two eyes, a beak, two wings, and feet from the felt
12. Glue the eyes and the beak onto the smaller pompom
13. Glue the small pompom onto the larger pompom
14. Glue on the feet and the wings
15. Let dry, and enjoy!
