Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is kicking off its 25th anniversary, and the 10th anniversary of the Aquarium’s location in Draper. Help us celebrate our past and unlock the future with the brand-new L.S and Aline W. Skaggs Science Learning Center. We will celebrate with a Time Capsule Ceremony including artwork, photos, essays, and other aquarium items!
4th-6th Grade Essay Contest
Become a part of Loveland Living Planet Aquarium history with a chance to have your 4th-6th grader’s essay in the Time Capsule. The winning author will be invited to read their winning essay at the special VIP Time Capsule Ceremony on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Rules:
-500 words maximum
-Essay must be submitted by Monday, January 15, 2024
-Participants must currently be in 4th-6th grade
-No purchase necessary to participate

Write an essay describing your experiences at the Aquarium, the animals that fascinated you the most, and the ways in which your visit has influenced your dreams and aspirations. Share your thoughts on how you can make a positive impact on the world, drawing inspiration from the diverse ecosystems you explored.



4th-6th Grade Art Contest
Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is burying a time capsule at the site of the new Science Learning Center Building. Your artwork may be chosen to be included in the time capsule. The winning artist will be invited to present their piece at the VIP Ceremony on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Rules:
-Participants must currently be in 4th-6th grade
-Maximum size of piece: 8.5″ X 11″ (must be on a flexible canvas/paper that can be rolled up)
-Any medium can be used (paint, colored pencils, digital art that is printed, etc)
-The winner’s actual piece will be included in the time capsule
-Artwork must be submitted by Monday, January 15, 2024
-Submissions will be a PHOTO of the art piece
-No purchase necessary to participate
